John and Mable Ringling in 1924 commissioned New York architect Dwight James Baum, to build their house. Ca d’Zan is The House of John translated from the Venetian dialect. The project was listed on Baum’s plans as “the home of Mrs. John Ringling,” and Mable was the principal contact for the construction and decoration of the interior. The mansion was completed in 1926, and soon become the epicenter of cultural life in Sarasota, evoking the Venetian Gothic palaces. Today is The John and Mable Ringling Museum of Art, oficial site www.ringling.org The pictures are from eCards in the site.
